In media music it's quite common for Violin 1 & 2 to be on a single combined part.
For desk numbering it's thus necessary to number 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6 and (for the same file) 2/1, 2/2, 2/3, 2/4, 2/5 (or I1 I2 I3 and II1 II2 II3, or similar).
Might it be possible to build this sort of numbering in, please?
Oh - yep - understand the desire for that.
So - the way the fraction desk numbers work currently is $copyNumber/$numCopies
I'm guessing you want to keep the ability to show the number of copies in this scenario so would something like 1-$copyNumber/$numCopies, 2-$copyNumber/$numCopies work for you?
Sure - there's no need for the separator to be a forward slash. A dash/hyphen or pipe character would work fine.
Great - OK - I'll add that into the backlog. There's a major update to the way desk numbers etc. are configured coming in the next couple of weeks (so you can see a preview of what it looks like on the page). This'll probably need to slot in after that.
Thinking the best way would be to have a setting configured by section as to whether this additional bit of info gets added into a desk number. Then if any weird edge cases that aren't violin 1/2 come up, it'll be covered.
Amazing. I suspect it's possibly a pain having two separate totals for a single file, so if it's easier to just configure a custom list where each $copynumber corresponds to a custom field, that would do fine (so long as it's sticky!).
I've just noticed that for (e.g.) three page choir booklets, telling OLTK to put desk numbers on the first page seems to put them on the third page.
Is this something that could be looked at at the same the other updates to desk numbering are implemented?
Oh curious! Haven't seen that before! Could you help me out with a little more info to help me recreate the problem?
1) A screenshot of the print tab set up in a way that makes this happen.
2) Send me diagnostics from OLTK: https://www.oltoolkit.com/docs/getting-started/beta-testing/send-diagnostics-to-support/
Thanks!
