Yes, this is definitely a feature I want to build. Atm, I'm thinking about how to build this feature. The starting point would be a tacet sheet template defined in Settings>Templates. This bit is easy as code is pretty much already built. What info should be on a default tacet sheet template do you think? In my head, it would be something like title, composer, arranger orchestrator, instrument the part is for at the top as though it is the front page of a part. And then the word TACET in the middle of the page. Sound sensible?

I think we'd do the actual generation of the sheets from the file naming view. UI wise, I'd envisage a checkbox on each newly generated filename to indicate that it is a tacet sheet. We'd then need a way to make sure that the lining up files with filenames side of things works OK.

Couple of options I can see for this:

1 - have a special list for filenames generating tacet sheets displayed somewhere - I.e. remove the tacet sheets from the file naming match list completely

2 - insert some kind of a 'dummy' file representing the as yet not created file in the list of files

In both cases, we'd generate the tacet sheet pdf file (using the assigned filename + metadata) upon hitting rename.

That all sounds great! I sometimes like doing a big bar of rest with the word tacet over it (but I have not been doing that recently.) Similar to older engravings.  

In my head there are two way tacet sheets can be utilized here.

1. simple 'click and print' situation. File name and instrument name selected which would auto generate the sheet. Maybe the librarian can check boxes for which instruments you want the tacet sheets created for from a big list. Does that make sense?

2. Pops shows! This is where I think it would be the most useful but also trickier to implement. This are just some suggestions that may not be realistic but may help steer things in a good direction.

There would be a global instrumentation for a concert, and ideally you could load the song name into a 'set list', then from that point click on and off which instruments need tacet sheet. If this is linked to Arts vision or OPAS would this be able to cross reference with the global instrumentation to know which instruments are not playing, or would we just have to manually click? Alternatively, if there is a way to upload our program sheets and it could read which instruments are tacet by cross referencing the global instrumentation.
