Hi everybody
I have started with the app, just for five minutes, and I think it's amazing. Anyway, there are some things I don't know how to change. Is it possible to create different orchestration names, in order to set up different kind of complete orchestras? For the moment, I just have find how to define the "Orchestra"type, but I don't want to call "percussion" another orchestration.
At the same time, I'm trying to setup our orchestra's naming system, and I can't put the abbreviations of the instruments instead of the full name of them. Is it possible to change it?
Txs to all!
Best
Hi Inigo!
Great to have you here!
For your first question, can you explain to me a bit more about what you mean by orchestra type?
For your second question - can you write me an example file name you are trying to achieve? This will better help me understand I think!
Thanks!
Chris
Hi Chris!
For example:
-Big orchestra: 3[1,2,Picc] 3[1,2,Eh] 3[1,2,Bcl] 3[|,2,Cbn] - 4 3 3 1 - Tmp - 4Perc - Hp - Cel
-Small orchestra: 2 2 2 2 - 4 0 0 0 - Tmp
-Baroque Orchestra: 0 2 0 1 - 2 2 0 0 - Tmp - Hpschd
And so on
On the other hand, now i can get "01_Mozart_DonGiovanni_Flute 1", and I would like to get "01_Mozart_DonGiovanni_Fl1".
Txs!

Hi Inigo!
I created some documentation on the various ways of adding instrumentation in the File Naming View. Here's the links:
https://www.oltoolkit.com/docs/naming-files/naming-files/using-daniels-instrumentation/
https://www.oltoolkit.com/docs/naming-files/naming-files/quick-instrumentation-buttons/
https://www.oltoolkit.com/docs/naming-files/naming-files/using-the-instrumentation-panel/
Hopefully these answer question 1!
For question 2 - not currently possible, but should not be a difficult feature to add. I'll try and get it built this week and let you know when an update is pushed out!
Cheers
Chris
Txs Chris
As I am working with it, a lot of questions come to me, and also possible features. I think I'm going to write here all of them at the end of the week, in order not to annoy you.
Anyway, in addition to my "question 2", it will also be nice to have the possibility of naming, for example, "01_Mozart_DonGiovanni_Fl1&fl2"; you know, sometimes two different instruments appear in the same paper.
Txs!
Keep the questions coming! This is exactly what I'm hoping for as part of the Beta process! 🙂 In the case of Fl1&Fl2, I will add the ability to customise what is shown for 'Doubling' so you can make it the & symbol. You would then be able to put 1 in the number of players box and then something like 1/2 in the details box. Combined with the addition I mentioned in the previous post, this would give you the ability to have Fl1&Fl2.
An update, as of 1.0.17.0, it is now possible to achieve the abbreviated part instruments in question 2. Please use the PartAbbreviations file name component and configured the Doubling Text and Instrument/Number Separator to your desired values. I've updated the docs with more info here:
https://www.oltoolkit.com/docs/settings/file-naming/file-name-templates/
https://www.oltoolkit.com/docs/settings/file-naming/components/
This is also now possible as of 1.0.17.0. To achieve Inigo's example, 01_Mozart_DonGiovanni_Fl1&fl2 , in Settings > FileNaming, set Doubling Text to "&", set Instrument/Number Separator to empty. Save settings. In the instrumentation box for flute, select 1 for number of players and enter 1/2 in the Detail box.
